Our Projects

EAOW is currently developing the first project. This project, known as the East Anglia ONE Offshore Windfarm, is located in the south of the zone and covers an area of approximately 300km2. The closest distance to land is located 43.4km off the coast of Suffolk. EAOW has been provided with a grid connection offer from National Grid for 1,200MW at the grid connection point for East Anglia ONE.

The proposed development is likely to include:

  • Offshore wind turbines and foundations (up to 333 wind turbines to provide an installed capacity of 1,200MW)
  • Up to four offshore platforms with foundations to support transformer substations/converter stations
  • Undersea cables between the wind turbines and offshore platforms
  • Up to four offshore undersea export cables to transmit electricity from the offshore platforms to the shore
  • A landfall site with onshore transition pits to connect the offshore and onshore cables
  • Up to four onshore undergound cables with jointing pits to transmit electricity to a new onshore converter station
  • A single building building at, or near Bramford, Suffolk, accommodating up to two converter stations to connect the offshore windfarm to the National Grid.

Offshore converter stations will be located within the East Anglia ONE Windfarm area.
